It is no exaggeration to say having regular eye examinations could save your life.

Ocular Melanoma UK and the organisations shown on this site are passionate about making changes to the future of ocular melanoma, and this campaign aims to support these changes by making a real difference to real lives.

The aims of the campaign are:

To raise funds to help people affected by ocular melanoma.

To raise awareness of ocular melanoma by encouraging people to have regular eye tests and report any unusual symptoms to their healthcare professionals.

To reach people living with ocular melanoma who do not know about Ocular Melanoma UK and other support networks around the world.

Why an Eye Patch?

The eye patch offers people a glimpse into the daily challenges of those affected by ocular melanoma, many of whom experience sight loss or impairment. By wearing an eye patch, participants show solidarity, helping to build understanding and compassion within the wider community.

Wearing an eye patch instantly draws attention and starts conversations, making it a natural tool for raising awareness about ocular melanoma.

It encourages people to consider their own eye health and highlights the importance of regular eye exams.

Who’s involved in Eye Patch Day?

We want EVERYONE affected by ocular melanoma to feel supported. If you know of an organisation or group which is not listed here, please do get in touch so we can invite them to show their details.

If there is no support in your country yet, please do consider forming your own group or organisation. Quite often, it just takes one person to start making improvements, so that others can find information and support more easily. Please get in touch if you would like to talk to us about this.
