This year has been a landmark one for Ocular Melanoma UK, and it’s all thanks to supporters like you. Together, we’ve achieved an incredible amount, here are some highlights:
- Increased Support: Together we’ve reached more people through our helpline and increased our advocacy work so people have the support, treatments and information they need.
- Two-Day Conference: Brought together patients, families, and experts to share support and knowledge.
- Tebentafusp Approval: We successfully appealed the NICE decision on Tebentafusp, securing access to life-changing treatment.
As we look to 2025, we’re setting our sights even higher. Your donation will help us:
- Increase Support by reaching more people and facilitating othe to meet in their local area.
- Build knowledge by running education sessions and including more information on our website for clinicians and patients.
- Encourage research by continuing to support research applications, advocating for wider treatment accessibility and developing a funding strategy for research.
We are aiming to raise £5,000 by 31st December 2024, and here’s what that could mean for Ocular Melanoma UK:
- Covering all costs of our helpline for two months, ensuring vital support for those in need.
- Funding more than three months of psychological support sessions for our members, helping them navigate challenging times.
- Contributing to seed funding for future research projects, paving the way for breakthroughs in ocular melanoma treatment and care.
Unrestricted funding like this allows us the flexibility to address the areas of greatest need as they arise, whether that’s providing immediate support to patients, raising awareness, or investing in long-term solutions.
We need your help to make this happen. Your donation today will directly impact the lives of those living with ocular melanoma.
As we look back on an incredible year with our very first treatment now funded on the NHS, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to you – our wonderful members and supporters – for making it all possible.
We have Eye Patch Day in May and now have Ocular Melanoma October to raise vital awareness about this condition. With Tebentafusp and more clinical trials opening for people who need further treatment, it’s absolutely the right time to push hard on the advocacy work we’ve started to ensure wider accessibility of treatment. Our annual report will be available soon which shows how we’ll expand our campaigns and build new tools to improve the lives of people with this condition.
We know that this next year holds even greater promise, but we need your help to raise the money needed so we can deliver our plans for 2025 and ensure no one faces ocular melanoma alone.
Merry Christmas,
