Our Not a Book, Book Club is now focusing on how patients are supported throughout their experience with this disease.

Audrey is working with the Guideline Development Group (GDG) to update the guidelines for hospitals dealing with Ocular Melanoma (primary and metastatic patients).   At the first meeting she brought up the topic of hospitals providing “signposts” for patients who need support (in its various guises) uniformly from every hospital and it was suggested that she find ‘evidence’ that supports such a need.

She has been given 12 papers to review (plus a spreadsheet with many more to refer to!!) and the suggestion that “it would be good if you formulate some questions…” This is too big for her to do alone.  She approached those who attended the last meeting and they are happy to support her in this quest.

So, our fellow ‘not a book, book clubbers’, we are now approaching you too!  The idea is, each of us pick a paper, read it and then formulate what question would that paper be answering.   Each Monday we will explain what paper was read, give a very brief overview of its contents and the all important question it was answering.

Up for it???  Click on the author below to find the paper and for joining instructions:
