Having completed his training in Ophthalmology at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, Mr Rundle undertook a clinical fellowship in Ocular Oncology at the Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia. Mr Rundle joined the team at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital as Consultant Ophthalmologist in 1999. She is a breast cancer patient who has battled the disease twice, she is acutely aware of the huge disparity in information and support available to patients diagnosed with a rare cancer. Julia is passionate to redress this imbalance and to improve services and outcomes for rarer cancer patients, ensuring that they are afforded the same high quality support she experienced. Rose Woodward heads up the Patient Support Service for the Rarer Cancers Foundation. She is a survivor of a rare cancer which gives her a unique insight into the problems faced by her fellow patients. Following successful treatment for renal cancer, Rose co-founded a nationwide support network for kidney cancer patients to provide information and practical support for patients refused NHS treatment for their disease. Dr Blakeborough trained in Leeds and has been a consultant in Sheffield since 1997. His areas of expertise are Ocular Oncology, Orbital surgery and Oculoplastic surgery. With his orbital and oculoplastic experience, he is able to enhance the ocular oncology service at Sheffield by managing complex issues of ocular melanoma including orbital extension of tumours and orbital recurrences.
